5 out of 5 stars AWESOME AWESOME fitness video   August 25, 2010
GG
I never usually bother reviewing products, but I was so impressed by this video I had to give credit where credit was due.

I am a gym rat/fitness buff, so am no stranger to exercise. This was the first Jillian Michaels video I purchased. Didn't really expect to see much in the way of results...I am already very fit, have done tons of aerobic classes, cardio, weighlifting, etc... I started at level 2 and I have to admit...it was a challenge even for me (of course I was jumping as high as I could go...but still). Within 3 weeks my body had gone through a metamophosis. I actually lost weight (much to my surprise), and my typically bulky muscles became leaner. My abs have never looked so good. All with a 20-minute workout...no change to eating habits...incredible.

I have read many reviews saying that this is a challenging workout and I would have to agree. It's only 20 minutes, but you are pushed HARD. Beginners would likely have difficulty and might need to build up to something like this.

My only complaint is that there aren't any more like this! I'm going to Jillian's website to petition her to do more 20 minute workouts. I still do both levels 2 & 3, and I have other videos in her series...but this one remains my favourite. I would love a little more variety in this genre.

3 out of 5 stars An awesome workout, but really boring!   August 24, 2010

There is no doubt that this DVD contains three hardcore workouts (like Jillian says, "results don't come free"), but I just found the workouts SO BORING! In Level 1, you begin by rotating a system of pushups and squat-n-press; it gets very tedious, very quickly. If you're a person like me who's not really into exercise, but wants to be in shape, I recommend other DVD workouts like Turbo Jam, the Crunch series or the SELF series. These are much more engaging and fun. If you're really into fitness and like doing pushups, this DVD is for you.

5 out of 5 stars It works!   August 13, 2010

I happened across this video and saw the great reviews so I thought I would give it a try. I have never had a workout video before so I'm no expert, but I've enjoyed the workout and the fact it only takes 20 minutes. Jillian works you the whole 20 minutes! I had been running for approx. 30 minutes most days so my cardio fitness level was o.k, but I was challenged with this DVD and have had to work my way up to doing each level. It does strength, cardio and abs in 20 minutes. There is level 1,2 and 3. Anyone can do it with determination and working your way up. It does get results and I have managed to loose some extra pounds and now doing these workouts is part of my fitness regime. Jillain motivates and talks you through the exercises and there are low impact versions of each exercises for those with bad knees etc. I will be definitely be on the look out for more of her videos in the future.

4 out of 5 stars Only 20 minutes!!   July 12, 2010

I know this DVD is working because in the 20 minutes it takes to do, I sweat and pant and hurt more than I ever did going to the gym for 1.5+ hours. While it can be a bit annoying doing/hearing the same things everyday, it is worth it. Once you get used to it, you can just mute it and put on your own music. Level one is NOT easy. I suggest doing it for about a week, and DEFINATELY stretch MORE than Jillian shows on the DVD or you will be really, really sore. I like to stretch for at least 10 minutes afterwards, just to be able to walk down the stairs the next day :)
Just when you want to give up and sit back down, the moves switch so you are constantly doing something new to stay motivated!

5 out of 5 stars Awesome Workout   July 10, 2010

Jillian kicks my butt even through the tv.
Love it and hate it all at the same time.
She makes me sweat, she makes me burn and I can do it all in 20 minutes a day!
